Subsequent to launching our Seavue Watchkeepers Afloat Scheme in February 2014, discussions have been ongoing to see if it can be further developed by setting up alliances with organisations having similar interests.    At present informal alliances have been have been agreed with the Sea Safety Group and St Monan’s (Fife, Scotland) Coastwatch station - see below.  Encouraging support has also been received from other organisations including the Civil Air Patrol, MCA, Trinity House, the MVS and the NSBA. Contact has been established with groups such as the NCI, the RNLI and the Coastguard Association with whom it is hoped further co-operation arrangements can be agreed in due course.
The Civil Air Patrol in the United Kingdom was formed in Yorkshire in the year 2000. Since then it has become one of the largest voluntary air observation organizations in Europe with over 200 members and over 70 aircraft belonging to operational units in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
